URBAN TALES
Diary of a No
Burning Star Records
The Portuguese band URBAN TALES was formed at the beginning of 2005
under the influence of Marcos Cesar, who, for that time, had just left
the SOUL DESPAIR project in order to concentrate on his new band,
resembling ANATHEMA, PARADISE LOST, EVEREVE, ENTWINE, CHARON, OPETH. I
should say this influence is quite obvious at their debut album "Diary
of a No", which is in melodic gothic metal of Finnish type. And that
means an abyss of emotions and personal feelings for 50 minutes. I
can't say that the CD is a sheer hit however there are several really
touching tracks. Just listen to the second song "In Purity". The first
pressing of CD was released as a digipack edition with bonus DVD, so
the collectors should hurry up. The CD also contains a hidden track
which is not marked in a tracklist.
